Why Model Identification Matters
Here's something that surprises most homeowners: Saniflo replacement parts are NOT universal across generations. The Saniplus — Saniflo's most popular model — has been manufactured in four distinct generations, and the microswitch, membrane, motor seal, and other internal components are different for each one.
Order the wrong generation's parts, and they simply won't fit. This is the #1 reason people end up frustrated when trying to repair their Saniflo unit.
With 25 years of Saniflo repair experience, we've put together this identification guide to help you figure out exactly which unit you have.
Step 1: Identify Your Saniflo Product Line
Saniflo makes several different product lines. Start by identifying which product you have:
| Product Line | What It Does | Visual Clue |
|---|---|---|
| Saniplus / Saniplus2 | Macerating toilet + sink + shower | The most common. White box behind the toilet. |
| Sanibest Pro | Heavy-duty macerator for commercial or high-use | Larger unit, often dark grey or with a metal plate |
| Saniaccess | Budget macerating unit | Compact, rounded design |
| Sanigrind | Macerator pump only (no toilet) | Smaller unit, connects to drain pipe |
| Sanivite / Sanishower | Grey water pump (sink/shower only — no toilet) | Flat, low-profile box |
| Sanicubic | Lifting station for multiple fixtures | Large box, usually installed in a pit or utility area |
Step 2: Identify Your Saniplus Generation
If you have a Saniplus (the most common unit), you need to determine which generation:
Saniplus 1st Generation
- Approximate production years: 1990s – early 2000s
- Key visual identifiers: Rounded top cover, simpler internal layout
- Inlet configuration: Single inlet pattern
- Label clue: Older-style Saniflo branding, often faded
Saniplus 2nd Generation
- Approximate production years: Early 2000s – ~2008
- Key visual identifiers: Updated cover design, repositioned inlets
- Inlet configuration: Modified inlet positions from 1st gen
- Label clue: Updated Saniflo logo
Saniplus 3rd Generation
- Approximate production years: ~2008 – ~2018
- Key visual identifiers: More squared-off design, modern inlet configuration
- Inlet configuration: Three inlet options (toilet, sink, shower)
- Label clue: Modern Saniflo branding with CE markings
Saniplus (Current Generation)
- Approximate production years: 2018 – present
- Key visual identifiers: Sleek, low-profile design. Quieter motor.
- Inlet configuration: Similar to 3rd gen but with updated fittings
- Label clue: "Saniplus" or "Saniplus2" on the label
Step 3: Check the Serial Number Label
Every Saniflo unit has a label with:
- Model name (e.g., "Saniplus," "Sanibest Pro")
- Serial number — this can help narrow down the manufacturing date
- Electrical specifications (voltage, Hz, wattage)
The label is typically found on the back or bottom of the unit. If it's faded or missing, the visual identifiers above and our parts breakdown pages can help.
Step 4: Use Our Parts Breakdown Pages
We maintain detailed parts breakdowns for each Saniflo generation showing every internal component:

- Saniplus 2nd Generation Parts Breakdown
